About The Bedrock Training Method
The Bedrock Training Method by Margot Woods is based on the belief that all dogs – family pets, obedience champions, search-and-rescue teams, assistance and therapy dogs, and every other canine – can benefit from comprehensive basic training. Bedrock Training, or the BT Method, is a fundamental approach to dog training that, in six weeks, can lay a solid foundation in obedience and responsibility that lasts and grows for the lifetime of your dog.
If you are a professional trainer or serious hobby trainer, and want to learn the key elements of Bedrock Training, look into our “Bedrock Essentials” course – an intensive three-day training program. To reach higher levels in your training, attend our five-day “Bedrock Complete” program, with tips, techniques and tricks to help you reach Open, Utility and beyond.
About Board-and-Train
Don't have the time to train your dog? Leave them with us! Applewoods' Board-and-Train includes 4 weeks ++ boarding at our facility with 6-days-a-week training. Board and Train also includes 6 lessons with you, the owner, so you can learn just as much as your dog! A private blog is updated regularly with your dogs progress including videos and photos.
Private Lessons
Applewoods offers private lessons at our home. You, as the owner, will learn how to teach desired behaviors, correct undesired behaviors and troubleshoot problems.

Coaching
Fine tuning and polishing to make dog and handler teams ready to enter the obedience ring.
Novice I Group Class
A six week course designed to teach the first 6 lessons of the Bedrock Training Method. This includes sit, down, stand, stay, place, come and heel. This course does not cover off-leash work. The cost of the the class with the Bedrock workbook and DVD is $150. The price for just the class is $125. Workbooks and DVDs purchased after the start of the class are $50.

Novice II Group Class
A six week course open to students who have passed the Novice I final exam and includes off-leash work. Students who pass this class will be able to successfully complete and AKC Novice Obedience course.
Retrieve Class
What if your dog really could bring the paper in every morning? Endless possibilites for your dog when you take the 16 week retrieve class. Not only does your dog learn a useful working retrieve, but the exercises necessary to enter the AKC Open ring are also covered. This class is offered by invitation only, to those students who have passed the Novice level final exam.
