Postponing Classes for the Coronavirus

To ensure the safety of our students, staff, and crew and do our part in preventing the spread of the Coronavirus, Applewoods is postponing the start of the Spring Semester by one week. Saturday classes will begin on March 21st and the Wednesday class starting on March 25th. Should our community need more time, we will push it back additional weeks until it is safe to meet!

The virus is contagious through droplets and can be transmitted even when symptoms are not present, so by increasing social distance – even in small class groups – we can reduce the spread’s momentum and ease possible strain on our community’s medical professionals.

This is a great time to rally as a community and come together (at a distance) to support and protect those that may be more vulnerable.

Can Your Dog Give You Coronavirus?

Given the recent news about Coronavirus, many people are curious if pets can spread the disease, either as a carrier or source of contamination. According to an article via CNN, vets and animal experts agree that the biggest risk isn’t the spread of the virus via animals, but rather the spread of fear through misinformation.

Click here to read the full article to learn more and stay educated on developments via accredited medical professionals, veterinarians, and the CDC.

As more cases of the virus are announced every day, be sure to include your furry family member in your plans in case your lifestyle is interrupted. Applewoods Dog Training will follow the lead of Prince Georges County school system in regards to postponing classes. As always, wash hands (and paws) after venturing out and about and practice good hygiene during any flu season.
